Zafaryab Jilani is an Indian lawyer belonging to the Sunni Waqf Board Council. According to sources he passed away on 17 May 2023 due to health problems. He came into limelight for his appearance in the Supreme Court on November 08, 2019, to dispute the Ayodhya land verdict by Muslims. He was the secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), which has been functioning since 1972. Besides this, he is the Additional Advocate General of the Government of UP. In May 2021, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital due to brain haemorrhage. Besides this, he has tested positive for COVID-19 and got treated.
